Wall Sconces and Wall Sconce Information

The light source inside your Wall Sconce can be Incandescent or Fluorescent. You may want to experiment with different bulbs to judge which are most effective; for example, Fluorescents can now achieve a warm glow. However, in new construction and major remodels, code provisions that mandate at least some Fluorescent lighting may apply. For locations near water--in Bathrooms, most notably--use Wall Sconces approved for such use. They should also be served by a ground fault circuit interrupter (GFCI or GFI). The shape and size should also be considered. Where will you hang the Sconce? How much wall space is available? Sconces come in different sizes and shapes. Some wall sconces have only one light; others have two or three lights. Some Wall Sconces have a plain, simple shape while others, like contemporary wall sconces, are curvy, fancy or spread horizontally. Choose a Wall Sconce from one of our Partners-Fire Farm, Access Lighting. Always select a Wall Sconce that will fit in size and shape and coordinate well with your other wall decorations. A Wall Sconce can often supply ambient light, bouncing their beams off walls and ceilings or emanating a subtle glow through translucent covers. A Porcelain Wall Sconce from Justice Design Group is a perfect example of this. A Wall Sconce may also serve as a task light directed at work surfaces or Stairs. They have the advantage of utilizing wall space, substituting for a lamp that would take up part of a tabletop or counter. In some cases the light rendered is minimal; the real purpose of the Sconce may just be ornamental.
